...A little background...

 

In 2012, Cynthia Millonzi was promoted to the rank of Colonel in the Army National Guard (Camp Mabry, Austin, TX). In 2013 she  came out publicly to her commanding officer AND, married her partner of five years, Austin Singer-Songwriter, Kit Holmes. L Style G Style Magazine did a feature on Cynthia in its "Unsung Heroes" issue (July/August 2013).

In early 2014, a "perfect storm" of egos, good-'ol-boy politics and discrimination began to brew and Cynthia found herself at the center of a woefully inept internal investigation that led to proposed actions to remove her from her military and civil service employment. This isn't the first time a high-ranking female officer in the Texas National Guard has been railroaded at the end of her career.
